Who This Is For
Product Managers, Software Engineers, Product Teams
What You Will Learn
Software engineers have become increasingly involved in the software lifecycle beyond active development, but they often ignore its earliest and most important stage: Discovery. Discovery identifies the “why” that informs what engineers build and how they build it. As the development of software scales to multiple teams and locations, it’s particularly important for everyone to have a shared understanding of both the business and user goals. In this session, I’ll share why it’s important for engineers to be involved in discovery, how they can gain the most value from it, and important considerations when building a product for a global user base.
About Me
Rahel’s Product Management career has been similar to a cat with nine lives.
She spent years on consumer-facing, activation and engagement-driven web and mobile applications, where running experiments are vital. She has built a marketplace from both the demand and supply perspective. She has crafted product strategies for in-house and Salesforce productivity solutions that would fit the workflow of a regional (SEA) and a global (70+ countries in LATAM, MENA, APAC, EU) business.
She has gotten her paws dirty in a public company and even dirtier founding her own startup and leading a product team in a series A company until it grew to a series C company. She has worked with talented C-level stakeholders, directors, and product teams on metrics ranging from conversion to efficiency and concepts ranging from AI, sales-ready product, to network effects. Her career has taken her from her home country in Indonesia to hot Singapore and now, the cold Berlin, where she enjoys sharing learnings with the community.
